Why it exists

Stop field-fabricating boxes

Every switch and outlet on a panel wall used to mean a handmade box and a homemade cover. The UBox is one machined part that ends the ritual.

An hour back, every opening

No cutting scrap panel, no bending a one-off cover, no cleanup pass to make it look right. The opening you used to lose an hour to takes minutes: template, screws, wire.

Machined, not bent

Every UBox is CNC-machined from billet 6061-T6 aluminum in our own Texas shop. Crisp edges, machined threads, an engraved faceplate — not a bent-up patch panel.

Engineered to the code

Designed to the requirements of NEC Article 314 and UL 514A, the standard for metallic outlet boxes. Independent lab listing is on the roadmap; spec sheets ship on request.

Looks like it belongs

Anodized black, powder-coated white, or natural aluminum, so the wall reads finished instead of field-fixed. Custom colors available on volume orders.

Four questions. Straight answers.

What every builder asks first

01

Will it fit my panels?

  • Mounts in the flat span — the UBox lives between the raised ribs of common steel wall panels, where the wall is flat.
  • The template tells you — every box ships with a cut template that shows the required flat width and exact screw locations.
  • Fit confirmed before you order — send your panel brand or profile, or a photo with a tape across one span, and we'll verify it.
  • Different profile? Say so — we own the machines; nonstandard spans are a conversation, not a dead end.
02

Will it pass inspection?

  • All-metal, machined construction — an inspector sees a purpose-built metallic box, not a bent patch panel someone improvised.
  • Engineered to the code — designed to the requirements of NEC Article 314 and UL 514A, the standard for metallic outlet boxes.
  • Honest about listing — independent lab listing is planned as volume ramps; we won't claim a mark we don't have yet.
  • Paperwork for your inspector — spec sheets and dimensional drawings ship on request. Requirements vary by jurisdiction; check with your AHJ.
03

Will it hold up?

  • Billet 6061-T6 aluminum — machined from solid stock. No plastic, no castings, no mystery metal.
  • Machined threads and edges — hardware seats the same way every time, on every box.
  • Finishes that last — anodized black, powder-coated white, or natural aluminum; custom colors on volume orders.
  • Workmanship guarantee — if it doesn't meet print, we remake it or refund it.
04

Can I buy it my way?

  • Order online in minutes — no payment taken on the site; a secure payment link or invoice follows within one business day.
  • Volume & builder pricing — building or wiring barndos for a living? Tell us your schedule.
  • POs and net-30 for approved builder accounts.
  • Ask before you buy — the question form goes to the people who machine it.
The install

From bare panel to finished wall

TEMPLATE · MOUNT · WIRE
01

Trace & cut

Set the supplied template in the flat span between two ribs, trace it, and cut the opening. The template gives you exact lines and screw locations — no measuring, no guesswork.

02

Mount the box

Set the UBox in the opening and drive the supplied fasteners. The body sits square in the span and the faceplate covers your cut edge.

03

Wire & finish

Pull your supply, land your devices, and attach the engraved faceplate. The wall looks factory-finished, and your inspector sees an all-metal box, not a field fab.

Before you buy

Asked before every order

Which panel profiles does the UBox fit?
The UBox mounts in the flat span between the raised ribs of common steel wall panels. Send us your panel brand or profile — or a photo with a tape measure across one span — and we'll confirm fit before you order. The supplied template shows the required flat width.
What's included with each UBox?
The machined box body, the engraved faceplate in your chosen finish, mounting hardware, and the cut template. Add your wiring and devices and the opening is done.
Is the UBox UL listed?
Not yet — and we won't pretend otherwise. The UBox is engineered to UL 514A (the standard for metallic outlet boxes) and NEC Article 314, machined in a shop that works to print every day. Independent laboratory listing is planned as volume ramps. Requirements vary by jurisdiction, so check with your local inspector — and ask us for the spec sheet to show them.
What devices fit it?
Standard decora-style switches, receptacles, dimmers, and inserts — the same devices you'd buy at any supply house. The launch configuration is 2-gang; tell us which configurations you want next.
