Template.
Mount. Wire.
The whole point of the UBox is what you don't do: no cutting scrap panel into a box, no bending a cover, no making it look right afterward. Here's the entire install.
- NO FIELD FABRICATION
- TEMPLATE INCLUDED WITH EVERY BOX
- STANDARD DECORA DEVICES
Trace & cut
Set the supplied template in the flat span between two ribs, trace it, and cut the opening. The template gives you exact lines and screw locations — no measuring, no guesswork.
Mount the box
Set the UBox in the opening and drive the supplied fasteners. The body sits square in the span and the faceplate covers your cut edge.
Wire & finish
Pull your supply, land your devices, and attach the engraved faceplate. The wall looks factory-finished, and your inspector sees an all-metal box, not a field fab.
Tools
A drill and whatever you already cut panel with. The template supplies the cut lines and screw locations.
Wiring
Supply wiring, device selection, and connection to your electrical system are your electrician's territory — the UBox gives them a proper metallic box to land in. Requirements vary by jurisdiction; when in doubt, ask your inspector and request the spec sheet to show them.
